Two assaults, by heavily armed bandits, were made at Manyatta and a police post in Jardesa in Marsabit County. 11 people of the Jaldesa community and three police officers were killed in Fora village by heavily armed men, amid escalation of tribal clashes in Marsabit County. Leaders from Marsabit County are demanding answers over the killings. Slain police officers and murdered villagers were taken to Marsabit county referral hospital. Doctors have been dispatched to conduct autopsy tests.
Leaders from the region are demanding answers how such an attack, conducted by over 500 people can be effected without the knowledge of security personnel.
The County Commissioner for Marsabit Evans Achoki stated that the police have launched an investigation for the actors of such a heinous act who have disappeared in the thin air. The County commissioner reiterated that the act occurred in the wee periods of Wednesday morning.
The County commissioner has urged residents to calm down amidst tension and anxiety arising from the killings. Sometimes back, two women and one boy were murdered due to inter-clan feudalism. During the ugly incidence, Manyatta Konso village was sprayed with bullets critically injuring three boys.
Security apparatus in Eastern region have advised leaders from Eastern province to work closely with the security agencies to mitigate crime rates and desist from inciting their people against others.
