First death as a result of coronavirus infection was reported in Kenya on Friday. The patient who succumbed to the virus was having other medical complications.
Multiple reports indicate that the patient was also suffering from diabetes. The 66-year-old man arrived in Kenya on March 13 after traveling to Swaziland and South Africa.
The person died at Aga Khan Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Thursday afternoon.
The shocking revelations concerning his death was reported by Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe. The first was reported a day after one patient was confirmed to have fully recovered from COVID-19.
So far 31 people have been confirmed positive of the novel coronavirus, one person has recovered and one fatality.
Counties with multiple COVID-19 cases include Nairobi, Kajiado, Kilifi, Mombasa and Kwale.
