Police have arrested controversial blogger Cyprian Nyakundi over a Twitter post.
Nyakundi posted on his Twitter account that a senior Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officer had travelled back to the country, and was not placed on quarantine.
According to Nyakundi, KRA Commissioner General James Mburu and other officials failed to self-quarantine for 14 days after traveling back from USA.
Later on, Nyakundi alluded that DCI detectives had been paid by the KRA CG to arrest him over his previous post.
The blogger had been summoned to present himself at the DCI offices before 3pm on Wednesday over spreading false news.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe had earlier warned those propagating lies with regard to COVID-19, that they will face the full wrath of the law.
Previously, Robert Alai was arrested for spreading fake news. He was later on released on a kshs.50,000 cash bail and barred from posting articles related to coronavirus.
