Narok Senator Ledama Olekina has been criticized by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission over his sensational remarks on national television.
During the Wednesday TV interview with Jeff Koinange, Ole Kina stated that they will present a proposal seeking to preserve the Maasai land to the BBI team on Saturday. The Senator stated that the Saturday meeting is solely meant to address issues affecting the Maa community.
Senator Ole Kina said, “Maasai issues will be better articulated by Maasais and I am not going to apologize for that.
There was a heated argument between Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot with Olekina over the preservation of Maasai land. Cheruiyot accused his counterpart of fanning tribalism to the effect of not recognizing other communities residing in Narok and Kajiado Counties.
Ledama equally hit back to Senator Cheruiyot for defending his community during the Mau eviction exercise.
KOT similarly criticized Ledama for saying that he will propose Non-Maasais not to vie for any elective post in Maa Counties.
