Cold weather snacks - Transitioning from ice cream

Many people like consuming cold food and drinks when it’s hot. Most people like devouring hot food and drinks when it’s cold. This is a misguided and illusionary perception. Human beings are endothermic in nature because of the ability of temperature control that’s independent of the environment.

During cold seasons, body temperatures tend to drop and the metabolic rate slightly increases due to shivering.  Chilly weather should not be misconstrued to the effect that people should stop from hankering for cold food.

Is it advisable to desist from consuming cold food when it’s cold?  Cold weather forces the body to use more energy to adjust to the cooler environment. This increases the intensity of hunger.  People’s appetite tends to spin out of control when temperatures fall. In true sense when it’s cold, eating cold food essentially warms the body. 

Normally, any type of food is a boost for metabolism and enables an increase in body temperature. Majority of people are not well trained to think of vegetables and fruits as winter supplement.  Ice cream is preferably the most publicized cold weather snack. However, it is not healthy for young people to stick to ice cream forgetting other healthy snacks such as blended fruits and fresh vegetables.

It is advisable to consume lots of vegetables during chilly seasons. Greens are important in boosting the body’s immune against illness. The problem is that vegetables might not be abundant during cold season. 

When the temperatures drop it’s advisable to take cocoa. Slurping down cocoa during cold weather is something great. Cocoa is a good thing that should be taken as breakfast during a freezing morning.
